The NFL has indefinitely suspended Denver Broncos defender Eyama Uwazurike for violating the league's gambling policy.

He becomes the 10th player to be disciplined for violating the NFL's rules on sports betting since the conclusion of the 2022 season.

In the league's announcement, it was revealed that Uwazurike had placed bets on NFL games during the 2022 season, and he will be eligible for reinstatement no earlier than July 24, 2024.

"Today, the NFL informed us that Eyama Uwazurike has been suspended indefinitely by the league for violating its gambling policy," the team stated. "Our organization has fully cooperated with this investigation and takes matters of game integrity very seriously. The Denver Broncos will continue to provide all members of our organization with the education, resources, and support needed to ensure compliance with the NFL's gambling policy."

While Uwazurike is suspended, he will not count towards the Broncos' 90-man offseason roster.
